Fred Zimmerman

"We're actors.  We're the opposite of people."
Tom Stoppard from "Rosencranz & Guildenstern are Dead"

Fred is a professional actor who has spent the last 25 years performing in comedies, dramas, and musicals in national broadway touring companies and regional and stock companies here in Chicago and across the country

Highlights include:

  • Original cast of the Hal Prince's Tony-award-winning revival of "Show  Boat" at  the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago
  • JP Morgan in the Tony Award-winning National Tour of “Ragtime,” directed by Frank Galati, at the Oriental Theatre
  • Santa in the family favorite "Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes"
  • Lt. Nick Rosetti in that icon of Chicago comedy, "Shear Madness"
  • Original cast of Stephen Sondheim's musical, "Bounce," directed by Hal Prince, playing at The Goodman Theatre and The Kennedy Center, including the Original Cast CD

Chicago audiences have also enjoyed his performances at theatres such as Northlight, Court, and over 17 productions at The Marriot Theatre.

Now, as far as Fred's film career is concerned, it's still ... evolving ... yes, that's the word ... evolving.

Fred had a small, yet insignificant role in Vince Vaughn's "Fred Claus" (no relation), and has appeared in a few avant garde independent films which shall remain nameless (and no doubt, audience-and profit-less).

Here's his IMDb page:

It's a quick read.

However, Fred recently appeared in a pilot episode of a comedy called "Lowering the Bar," which won the Chicago Comedy Pilot Competition.  So that's good.  What will become of Fred's Film & TV career?

Take a guess ... it's like a game.
